Buffalo Bisons 0, Worcester Red Sox 4

The Buffalo Bisons' (11-7) offence sputtered as they were shut out by the Worcester Red Sox 4-0 in the final game of their series.

The batters produced just six hits including two from Breyvic Valera (2-for-4, 2B, SB) and Richard Urena (2-for-3, 2B) while Cullen Large was 1-for-4 and Riley Adams was 1-for-3 with a walk.

Former first-round pick T.J. Zeuch was on the mound, needing 102 pitches to get through 4 1/3 innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits and two walks with four strikeouts. Curtis Taylor (Port Coquitlam, B.C.) walked two in 1 2/3 innings but struck out three while Connor Overton walked one and struck out one in one inning. Kirby Snead finished it, striking out three in the eighth but he also allowed a run to score on two hits.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats 2, Portland Sea Dogs (BOS) 7

The New Hampshire Fisher Cats (7-11) appeared to lose more than just the ballgame with starter Elvis Luciano coming out of the game after retiring just one batter. The Portland Sea Dogs beat up the Fisher Cats 7-2 to take the win.

Luciano came out of the game with an apparent injury, giving up a hit in 1/3 of an inning. Andrew McInvale did solid work in relief, allowing just one run on two hits and two walks with three strikeouts in four innings. Sam Ryan was even better, striking out three and allowing just a hit in 2 2/3 innings. Willy Gaston allowed three runs (two earned) on four hits (one HR) in one inning to take the loss and Fitz Stadler allowed three runs (one earned) on a home run and a walk in the ninth.

Despite scoring two runs, there was some positive to take away from the game on offence. Gabriel Moreno hit his third home run of the year, going 1-for-4 with the solo shot in the fourth. Vinny Capra was 3-for-4 with an RBI and Samad Taylor continues to be hot, going 2-for-4 and stealing a base. Demi Orimoloye (Orleans, Ont.) was 1-for-4 with a stolen base and a run and Chris Bec was 1-for-3 with a walk. Kevin Vicuna was 1-for-4 with a walk.

Vancouver Canadians 5, Hillsboro Hops (ARI) 4

The Vancouver Canadians (12-6) got out to a lead in the middle of the game and were able to hold on to win 5-4 as the Hillsboro Hops made a late charge.

Paxton Schultz was dominant on the mound, winning his second game with six scoreless innings, allowing just two hits and striking out five. Justin Maese allowed his first run of the year, throwing two innings and giving up a run on two hits with a walk and three strikeouts. Will McAffer (North Vancouver, B.C.) allowed three runs on three walks in 1/3 of an inning and Parker Caracci managed to shut the door, allowing two of his three inherited runners to score but finishing off the game, giving up a hit in 2/3 of an inning for the save.

The offence took advantage of a couple of Hillsboro errors, scoring their five runs with just two RBI and seven hits. Spencer Horwitz (2-for-3, BB, 3 R) and Luis De Los Santos (2-for-4, RBI, R) had two hits apiece while Sebastian Espino (1-for-4), Ryan Gold (1-for-4) and Cameron Eden (1-for-4, SB, R) had one each. Ronny Brito was 0-for-2 with a sac fly, an RBI and a walk.

Dunedin Blue Jays 6, Clearwater Threshers (PHI) 8

The Dunedin Blue Jays (6-12) almost held on for a win but the Clearwater Threshers scored two in the bottom of the 10th on a walk-off home run to beat Dunedin 8-6.

Orelvis Martinez had three of the club's hits, falling just a triple short of a cycle with a double and a home run, going 3-for-5 with an RBi and two runs. Jhon Solarte also hit a home run, going 1-for-3 with the blast, a walk and two RBI. Addison Barger (1-for-4, BB), Miguel Hiraldo (1-for-5), Zach Britton (1-for-5, R), Mack Mueller (1-for-5, 2 RBI) and Steward Berroa (1-for-3, BB, R, SB) had the club's other hits.

Rafael Ohashi struck out six but also gave up three runs on five hits in three innings. Adrian Hernandez struck out two in his inning and Patrick Murphy, making his first appearance of the year on a rehab assignment, gave up two runs (one earned) on three hits with two strikeouts in 1 1/3 innings. Roither Hernandez allowed a solo home run but struck out four in 2 1/3 innings while Jiorgeny Casimiri struck out one in 1 1/3 innings. Position player Jose Rivas came in for the 10th and gave up a home run and two runs (one earned), getting one out.
