The Junior National Team earned their fourth win of the Dominican Pro Academy Camp on Tuesday, defeating the Cincinnati Reds DSL squad 9-7 in an eight-inning game.

The Canadians scored nine runs on nine hits.

Myles Naylor (Mississauga, Ont.) got the Juniors on the board in the top of the first when he smashed a two-run homer. He would finish 1-for-3 with three RBIs.

Owen Slater (Whitby, Ont.) and Josiah Romeo (Caledon, Ont.) each pitched two innings and allowed a pair of runs on five and two hits respectively. Hudson White (St. John’s, Nfld.) entered the contest in the fifth inning and struck out three in two scoreless frames in relief.

Brayden Ricketts (Brampton, Ont.) also homered for the Juniors and finished 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs, while BJ Peart (Markham, Ont.) went 2-for-4. Jorge Valdes (Milton, Ont.) reached base in all four of his plate appearances, completing the day 1-for-1 with an RBI and a run scored.

Cam Macleod (North Vancouver, BC) also contributed a hit and two RBIs, while Simon Baker (Cochrane, Alta.) went 1-for-2 with a run.

The Juniors finish the Dominican Professional Academy Camp 4-3-5.

Once again, the camp delivered an outstanding opportunity for the Junior National Team to grow and compete while immersing themselves in Dominican baseball culture.
