After beginning the season with eight scoreless appearances with the class-A Salem Red Sox, left-hander Nathan Landry (Victoriaville, Que.) was promoted to the High-A Greenville Drive last Wednesday.

The 24-year-old Trois-Rivières Eagles alum has since made two relief appearances for Greenville.

On Sunday, in his most recent outing, he entered the game in the sixth inning with the Drive clinging to a 4-3 lead over the Ashville Tourists, with the Tourists threatening with a runner on second. Landry promptly got a strikeout to end the inning. He then retired the Tourists in order in the seventh and finished with three Ks in 1 1/3 innings to earn a hold in the Drive’s 7-3 win.

Selected in the 15th round of the 2022 MLB draft by the Red Sox, Landry logged 10 1/3 scoreless innings and fanned 11 batters with class-A Salem prior to the promotion.

This represents Landry’s first full season in professional baseball. He made two relief appearances for the Red Sox Florida Complex League club in 2022.
