Red Cross to honour Angela Burger and Savannah Blakley for saving CBN founder's life

Angela Burger (Calgary, Alta.) and Savannah Blakley (Okotoks, Alta.) will receive the Canadian Red Cross Rescuer Award prior to tonight’s game at Seaman Stadium for their quick response when Canadian Baseball Network founder Bob Elliott suffered a medical emergency while speaking at the Okotoks Dawgs annual banquet on February 2.
Burger, an Okotoks Dawgs photographer, and Blakley, the team's athletic therapist and trainer, together provided lifesaving assistance.
Sarah Witiw, from the Canadian Red Cross First Aid Program Development, will be on hand to present the award to Burger and Blakley in a ceremony before the Dawgs’ game tonight against the Brooks Bombers.
The Canadian Red Cross First Aid and Water Safety program provides individuals with the opportunity to learn how to prevent injury. They train individuals in safely performing CPR, providing first aid assistance, learning how to swim, and improving their overall awareness of water safety.
