Baseball Saskatchewan
Baseball Saskatchewan would like to take this time to give our condolences to all family, friends and former teammates of Dan Kasperski.
He passed away on January 9.
He was from Weyburn, Sask., and was a member of the 1989 Team Sask that competed at the Canada Summer Games that was held in Saskatoon and coached by Jim Baba. They finished with a silver medal to give Saskatchewan baseball our very first medal at a Canada Games.
He was named Baseball Sask Player of the Year in 1988 and went on to play four years with the Iowa State University Cyclones.
He was a fierce competitor and a great teammate. He continued with his passion for sport after his playing days were over as he coached and mentored players and coaches all over the world. When he was in Saskatchewan, he facilitated some of our NCCP coaching clinics. He always brought enthusiasm and passion when he coached and taught our clinics.
We will miss him dearly.
Rest in peace Dan.
