Thomson in contention for Yankee managerial job?

Stratford resident Rob Thomson (Corunna, Ont.) is in contention to be the next manager of the New York Yankees.

The last time Rob Thomson was a full-time manager Mike Lowell was his third baseman.

The year was 1995 with class-A Oneonta in the New York Penn League. Thompson (Corunna, Ont.) was bench coach of the New York Yankees this season. Thomson already has five World Series rings four in the minors and the last one 2009 as a coach on Giradi’s staff.
