Luther drives the Mississauga Majors bus

The name of the game is usually pitching. And the name of the pitcher doing most of the work for the Mississauga Majors was right-hander Aiden Luther. Luther had two wins and a save as the Majors won the consolation title of the Battle of the Falls in Niagara N.Y. The Majors dropped the opener and then coach Mike Irving’s team won five straight.

Elliott: Gausman wanted Omaha mound, but Stony Brook Canucks stopped LSU

Kevin Gausman didn’t dream of making the majors or pitching for the Baltimore Orioles, San Francisco Giants, Atlanta Braves, Cincinnati Reds or your Toronto Blue Jays. He wanted to make it to the College World Series in Omaha and pitch at Rosenblatt Stadium. The Canadian Junior Team resumes action south of the border in West Palm Beach, Fla., from April 13-23. Amateur scouts and college recruiters have not been able to evaluate Canada’s best high schoolers since March of 2020. However, there were plenty of scouts on hand when the Langley Blaze, with pick ups from across the land, visited pro camps to play first- and second-year pros, plus college teams in Phoenix, Ariz.
