The younger brother of Blue Jays outfielder Dalton Pompey, Tristan shows more tools than Dalton did at the same age. He is a long way from reaching his ceiling, but the younger Pompey has an intriguing skill set.
He’s a switch-hitter that looks more natural lefthanded at present. Pompey has a physically imposing 6-foot-4, 200-pound frame, with broad shoulders and wide hips. He has plus speed and has the potential to stick in center field.
Pompey shows above-average bat speed and some feel for the barrel. He may be difficult to sign away from his Kentucky commitment, but teams may be willing to bet on his upside and meet his asking price.
