Dawgs fans rank fourth in North America

Dawgs Rank 4th in North American Collegiate Attendance

OKOTOKS, Alta. _ The Okotoks Dawgs have once again secured the fourth over-all spot in summer collegiate baseball attendance. The Dawgs fell just short of moving up to the No. 3 spot by a mere average of 55 fans per game. Overall, the Dawgs still saw the attendance rise by over 400 fans per game.
 
The Dawgs can only thank the ‘Greatest Fans in Baseball’ for once again boosting them to the No. 4 spot. With the unusual weather that Okotoks encountered this year the Dawgs learned how resilient and committed their fans are. During the final month of the season, Okotoks received close to 200mm of rain, which caused a cancellation of one game and forcing another two to be rescheduled. Even with the changes to some of our games, fans still came out in full force, as the Dawgs saw the game day average rise from 2918 to 3329 fans per game in 2016. 

The Victoria HarbourCats were ninth, averaging 2,239 fans per game, the Edmonton Prospects (1,820) were 16th, the Lethbridge Bulls (1,056) were 65th, the Medicine Hat Mavericks (888) were 74th, the Thunder Bay Border Cats (826) were 79th, the Regina Red Sox (643) were 89th
