OTTAWA - Adam Hall’s summer travel schedule just got busier.
Just days after returning from Cuba where he participated in the Cuba Summer Series with the Junior National Team in Havana, the 17 year-old from London, Ontario was named to East Roster for the Perfect Game All-American Classic that will take place August 14th at Petco Park in San Diego.
Just last month, Hall was named to the Under Armour All-America Game set for July 23rd at historic Wrigley Field in Chicago. Both of these games are the premier showcase events for up-and-coming high school seniors eligible for the 2017 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft.
“What can I say, it's just an honour to be selected with all of these great players,” said Hall. “I think the biggest thing is just to enjoy these experiences as much as possible and try and become a better baseball player because of it.”
Just like the Under Armour All-America Game, Hall was the only Canadian named to the Perfect Game All-American Classic rosters.
“As far as being the only Canadian selected it takes on greater meaning because I get to represent my country which I'm really proud of,” he added.
Hall will join Junior National Team alums Gareth Morgan (2013) and Josh Naylor (2014) as the only Canadians to have participated in the contest that has been in existence since 2003 when it was known as the Aflac All-American Classic.
Notable alumni include former first overall picks Justin Upton, Bryce Harper and Gerrit Cole along with current MLB stars Andrew McCutchen, Buster Posey, Kris Bryant and Madison Bumgarner.
Hall, who joined the Junior National Team program in October 2014, recently led the squad in hitting during the Cuba Summer Series with a .333 batting average, one double, one triple, one home run, six RBI and four stolen bases in eight games.
He is committed to Texas A&M University for the 2018 season.
The Perfect Game All-American Classic can be seen live on August 14th on MLB Network beginning at 8pm EDT.
