I’m back from my sojourn to the Ottawa area for a couple of performances at a Medieval Festival where Wi-Fi wasn’t part of the package. It’s time to catch up on the weekend’s action in the Blue Jays’ minor leagues. The Lansing Lugnuts won all three games against the Lake County Captains this weekend, and have moved into a tie for the Eastern Division lead in the second half with a 13-5 record.
Friday
Lansing Lugnuts 2, Lake County Captains 1
On Friday, it was the excellent pitching of Ryan Borucki which got the Lugnuts a win as Borucki went 7 2/3 innings with just one run against on six hits and three walks with six strikeouts to earn his sixth W of the season. Andrew Case threw 1 1/3 innings of scoreless ball to finish the game off and pick up his first save of the year.
The offense was quiet with just five hits but Justin Atkinson’s two-run double gave the Lugnuts enough to win.
