Lloyd, Clarke rank among top JUCO prospects

Matt Lloyd didn’t take a single swing in anger last spring.
Yet he recovered from Tommy John surgery Lloyd (Calgary, Alta.) he was impressive to scouts last fall with the Iowa Western Reivers.
Lloyd is now ranked 93rd of the top 150 Junior College players in North America according to Perfect Game USA.
Earlier, the former Okotoks Dawgs who played for coach Allen Cox, was ranked 75th on the top 100 JUCO players.
Iowa Western has three National championships (2010, 2012, 2014) on its resume along with 16 trips to the JUCO World Series, 16 Northern District titles and 23 Region XI titles.
In all, Iowa Western has sent 123 players off to NCAA Division 1 schools, including Lloyd who has signed a Letter of Intent to be an Indiana Hooiser.
Lloyd has company on the top 150: OF Tristan Clarke (Brampton, Ont.) of the Eastern Oklahoma State Mountaineers.
Ranked 137th, Clarke, a Great Lakes Canadians grad, hit .176 with two doubles, two homers and seven RBIs in 29 games with a .671 OPS.
