UBC's Yip named CCC Player of the Week

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The following eight Cascade Collegiate Conference student-athletes have been recognized as the CCC Players of the Week for their performances during competition from April 14 – April 20, 2025.
 
Baseball – Player
(RV) University of British Columbia’s Kyle Yip (Calgary, Alta.) was named the CCC Baseball Player of the Week for the second time this season.

Yip, a sophomore catcher from Calgary, Alta., had tremendous performances on the diamond, helping lead the Thunderbirds to three victories over Eastern Oregon University. He recorded a .533 batting average and a 1.067 slugging percentage with eight hits, two doubles and two home runs. He also added two runs and 11 RBIs while earning a .611 on base percentage. He held a perfect fielding percentage to round out his impressive weekend.

Baseball – Pitcher
Bushnell University’s Max Chapman was named the CCC Baseball Pitcher of the Week.

Chapman, a senior from Grain Valley, Mo., had a fantastic performance on the mound against No. 22-ranked Lewis-Clark State College, leading to a 3-1 victory. He allowed just one earned run and four hits while striking out six batters in six innings for a 1.50 ERA and a 1.00 WHIP, holding LC State to their lowest scoring total of the season.
 
Softball – Player
No. 1-ranked Southern Oregon University’s Hailey Seva was named the CCC Softball Player of the Week.

Seva, a senior outfielder from Granite Bay, Calif., had an outstanding outing for the Raiders, helping lead to another undefeated week. She recorded five hits, including two doubles and a homerun for a .833 batting average and a 1.667 slugging percentage. Across the weekend she tallied five runs and five RBIs. She was also perfect on defense to round out her impressive performances.

Softball – Pitcher
No. 1-ranked Southern Oregon University’s Ayla Davies was named the CCC Softball Pitcher of the Week for the sixth time this season.

Davies, a freshman from Burns, Ore., had another terrific outing on the mound for SOU against No. 23-ranked College of Idaho. She allowed just two earned runs and six hits across 19 innings with 25 strikeouts. She added four wins for a .74 ERA and a .37 WHIP. She leads the NAIA in wins (26) and is ranked second in ERA (.80).
 
Men’s Outdoor Track & Field – Track Athlete
University of British Columbia’s Dylan Uhrich was named the CCC Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.

Uhrich, a senior runner from Vancouver, B.C., had an outstanding week at the Bryan Clay Invitational. He competed in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 8:49.44 and in the 1500m with a time of 3:46.17. He reached NAIA “A” Standards in both events which currently rank first and fourth in the NAIA this season, respectively.

Men’s Outdoor Track & Field – Field Athlete
Eastern Oregon University’s Justin Krabbenhoft was named the CCC Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.

Krabbenhoft, a senior from Metaline Falls, Wash., won the decathlon at the CCC Multi Events Championship. He won by a margin of 480 points, improving his score by six points for a total score of 6623 which currently ranks No. 7 in the NAIA this season.

Women’s Outdoor Track & Field – Track Athlete
University of British Columbia’s Elysse Fleming was named the CCC Women’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.

Fleming, a junior from London, Ont., had a successful weekend at the Bryan Clay Invitational. She held her top spot in the 3000m steeplechase (10:25.61) and reached an NAIA “B” Standard in the 1500m (4:31.72).
 
Women’s Outdoor Track & Field – Field Athlete
Southern Oregon University’s Abi Stevens was named the CCC Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.

Stevens, a senior from West Allis, Wis., won the heptathlon at the CCC Multi Events Championship. She won by a margin of 224 points with a total score of 4995 to take the top spot in the NAIA.
