Expos player/coach Manuel became manager with White Sox and Mets

Even when he was playing for the Montreal Expos in 1981 at age 28, Jerry Manuel was thinking of managing one day. Canadian Baseball Network writer Danny Gallagher interviewed Manuel for his latest book about the Expos called Bases Loaded, which he will be signing at the Intercounty Baseball League game at Christie Pitts on Sunday between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Brantford Red Sox.

Pedro Martinez coming to Canadian ball hall ceremony

The Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame announced on Monday that former Montreal Expos Cy Young Award winner Pedro Martinez will be attending this year’s induction ceremony on June 18. Martinez had been elected to the Canadian ball hall in 2018, but was not able to attend at that time. Unfortunately, the Hall also announced that legendary Expos broadcaster Jacques Doucet will not be able to attend due to the health reasons.

Canadian ball hall to honour Guerrero Jr., Lott on Wednesday at Rogers Centre

Montreal-born Toronto Blue Jays slugger Vladimir Guerrero Jr. will be presented with the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame’s 2021 Tip O’Neill Award in a ceremony prior to the Toronto Blue Jays game against the Seattle Mariners at Rogers Centre on Wednesday, May 18. John Lott, the legendary baseball writer for the National Post and The Athletic, will also be presented with the 2021 Jack Graney Award.
